hi G978, to get data recovery you don't need microsoft was ready for this so hit start>programs>accessories>system tools scrol down to system restore there you will see a calender hit the first lit number to your left and hit okay or apply your system will restore then reboot it will return the files to you. now let's say your files were in the delete bin and they were deleted then go to the delete bin and ask for that file back it will come right back to you after the restore. good luck hope i was helpful to you
